How to make Martha Stewart Macaroni and Cheese at Home?

Ingredients

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter – 1/4 cup all-purpose flour – 5 cups milk – 2 teaspoons salt – 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg – 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper – 4 1/2 cups grated sharp white cheddar cheese – 2 cups grated Gruyère cheese – 1 pound elbow macaroni – 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumbs

Step 1

To make her Macaroni cheese recipe, start with preheating the oven to 375°F or at 190°C

Now take a large-sized container and melt 6 tablespoons of butter on the medium flame. Now add flour and whisk it properly, cook for atleast 1 minute

Now gradually add milk and you need keep whisking and cooking for another 12 minutes until until the mixture bubbles and start thickning

Step 4

Turn off the stove. Now add salt, nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, 3 cups of cheddar cheese, and 1 1/2 cups of Gruyère cheese one by one and stir everything properly

Step 5

Cook macacroni as mentioned on the pack, and then drain out the excess water. Next, add them to your cheese sauce, stir well

Step 6

Now transfer this mixture to a buttered baking dish. Add breadcrumbs over the mixture. Bake until golden for 30 mins
